Murano Glass
Neropoaco offers a wide range of products handmade on the island of Murano by master glassmakers from Murano.
The Murano Glass Processing Techniques we use are the following: blown glass, lampworking, massello, murrina, incalmo, reticolo.
Our Murano glass beads are synonymous with style and quality, made by the best craftsmen on the island using the ‘lampworking’ technique. Moreover, being full on the inside, they are very durable and therefore perfect for everyday wear.
Useful advice: treat your glass jewellery with care, avoid dropping it on the floor.
People who buy a product in our online shop receive a GUARANTEE CERTIFICATE.
The purpose of the guarantee certificate is to certify to customers that the products purchased are made of original Murano glass.
The term steel generically indicates an alloy between two main elements: iron and carbon.
The process by which it is given its golden colour is the galvanic method.
How does the galvanic bath process work?
The gold electroplating bath process takes place through electrolysis.
Gold is dissolved in an electrolyte solution and the object to be plated is immersed in the solution. A gold electrode is placed in the electrolytic solution and another electrode is connected to the object to be plated.
When an electric current is applied, gold ions move towards the object to be plated and deposit on its surface. The process continues until the object reaches the desired thickness of gold coating.
The result is a uniform and durable coating that gives the object a luxurious and long-lasting appearance.
Its main features are:
- High hardness – steel jewellery is hard enough, it does not break,
- Surface resistance – the surface is more resistant to scratching or abrasion than other softer metals, it also withstands (salt) sea water, provided it is rinsed with fresh water after bathing and dried.
- Colour stability – steel jewellery has its own UV protection that prevents colour variation caused by light.
- Anti-corrosion surface – the surface is resistant to oxidation and corrosion.
- Low maintenance – one of the typical advantages of stainless steel jewellery is its low maintenance. Cleaning it requires warm water, soap and a soft cloth.
- It is light – stainless steel is one of the lightest metals, as is its jewellery. Therefore, it is comfortable to wear for a long time.
- Ages well – stainless steel is not afraid of corrosion and scratches. For this reason, it ages well.
- Hypoallergenic composition – in general, stainless steel is a hypoallergenic material and is also suitable for people with silver allergies.
The release of nickel, in alloys used in costume jewellery, is generally within the legal limits of the REACH Regulation
- Treat them gently and, when you are not wearing them, store them carefully in their box or a jewellery bag. This will prevent scratches and dents but above all protect them from direct light and other atmospheric agents.
- Avoid contact with seawater unless the jewellery is rinsed, immediately afterwards, with fresh water and then dried.
- Avoid contact with chlorine, thermal water (which contains sulphur) and any chemical or acidic products (such as cleaning products but also perfumes, creams, detergents and beauty products).
- You may not know it, but the brilliance and durability of rhodium and gold plating in particular can also depend on perspiration and the natural ph of the skin. This is why we advise you to store your jewellery while exercising.
- Polish your jewellery using a soft, clean cloth.
- Do not wear them while sleeping to avoid accidental damage.
To maintain its beauty and lustre, cleaning is essential.
Therefore, below we have for you simple, quick and inexpensive solutions on how to clean steel jewellery:
Cleaning with soap and water
First, put hot water in a basin and add three drops of mild dish soap. Then, in another basin, put some plain hot water. Use a small soft cloth with warm water and soap to scrub the jewellery. Soft brushes help remove dirt.
Immerse the cleaned jewellery in the other bowl to rinse it. Wipe dry with a clean, smooth cloth. Next, polish the stainless steel with a jewellery cloth.
Cleaning with water and baking soda
In a bowl, add two parts baking soda to one part clean water. Form a paste and dip a soft-bristled toothbrush into it.
